what we do

The Children’s Fund works to minimize the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s) on young people and communities by providing funds for activities which build confidence, encourage growth, and increase resilience.
-
Some examples of what we fund:
-
Sports
-
Music Lessons
-
Academic Tutoring
-
Passes to museums and the Zoo
-

We accept applications from any individuals who work with children and youth living in Pierce County who have experienced ACE factors. Please review the following guidelines to ensure that you are a good fit for funding.
-
A child or youth you work with…
-
would like to participate in an activity that will contribute positively to their development
-
has experienced ACE factors in their lives
-
Is experiencing economic hardship that would otherwise prevent them from participation in the activity
-
-
So, you may be a….
-
Social worker or caseworker
-
Teacher
-
Foster parent
-
Youth worker
-
-
The parameters:
-
Grants are no more than $500/child/year
-
If the child would like to continue the activity long term, a new application must be submitted every 3 months.
-
Funding cycle is October-June
-
We cannot accept applications from organizations, companies, or individuals who would be receiving the funds. For example, if a child would like to attend classes at the YMCA, we cannot accept an application from the YMCA or an employee of the YMCA for that grant.
